Are Your Business Partners Who They Say They Are?

IAM occasionally receives complaints about business dealings with companies claiming to be IAM members, and even providing fake, doctored membership certificates. In a recent case, it turned out that the company not only had a fake IAM certificate, but certificates from other moving associations as well.

The best thing you can do to verify membership in nearly all associations is to check IAM's Mobility Exchange (IAMX), which will have the company's IAM certificate. If that company has validated their listing on IAMX, all their membership certificates will be available. In addition, see this list of companies that are misusing IAM's name or logo.

If your company has not yet validated its IAMX listing, this is the best way to showcase all your certifications, memberships and capabilities. Learn more about this program now.

Atlas Van Lines Annual Study Reveals Shifting Relocation Incentives, Newfound Workplace Autonomy

Atlas is pleased to present its 56th Annual Corporate Relocation Survey, the industry’s first and longest-running investigation into corporate relocation policies and practices. As they have done every year since 1968, they consider the demographic, geopolitical, and economic shifts affecting our industry. They analyze the findings and uncover the trends to understand the evolving challenges more clearly—and learn how we, as relocation professionals, can answer them.

Key findings include trends toward increasing employee relocations and relocation budgets, along with insights into economic and workforce impacts and evolving employee preferences. For this year’s complete survey results, visit the Atlas Van Lines Corporate Relocation Survey results online. A complete report booklet of critical findings, charts, and the comprehensive survey is also available for download here.

Stand Out from the Rest as an IAMTrusted Moving Company

Stand out with the IAMTrusted Moving Company (ITMC) designation. Backed by a strict adherence to the IAM Code of Ethics and powered by the IAM Issue Resolution System, this innovative program assures prompt and fair resolution of issues raised against any company who has the badge on the IAM Mobility Exchange (IAMX). The first phase of this initiative deals with member-to-member issues and this will build the foundation for a future phase focused on moving customers.

This is needed more than ever as rogue operators continue to scam unsuspecting customers. See the recent articles on moving scams in the US below.

Portal Magazine

In every issue of the Portal, we invite our authors to share their experiences, success stories, learning experiences, and vision with others in the moving and forwarding industry. In addition to our regular columns, feature articles for each issue are united by a central theme.

The theme: "Think globally, act locally" chosen by the IAM-YP Management Board encourages considering global consequences and making a positive impact in local communities.

Submit your story today for the upcoming edition of the Portal Magazine. Contact Portal Editor Will Kohudic if you have any questions or want to send him your article.
