Mike Cashner of Landstar, the NDTA Surface Committee Co-Chair, sent the below message and attachment on an installation access survey:
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I want to bring a significant issue to your attention, and also to ask for your assistance. Since the attached advisory/installation access survey was released on January 24th, SDDC has received only one submission.
Regrettably (albeit understandable), SDDC perceives the lack of response and “data” to mean that there isn’t a significant problem. As a result, SDDC, OSD, USTRANSCOM, the Services, and other U.S. Government stakeholders are unlikely to invest the time and resources required to fix the access problems we continue to experience.
Therefore, I strongly urge all transportation service providers to PLEASE submit one of these Installation Access Surveys to SDDC each time one of your drivers (or employees) experience challenges with accessing a DOD installation between now and 31 July. Thank you for your attention and support.
