The Pentagon delayed recommendations for two female generals to take over top-tier commands last fall for fear the Trump administration would overturn the decision, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

Then-Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Army Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, advised against a recommendation to nominate Air Force Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost, currently head of Air Mobility Command, to take over U.S. Transportation Command

USTC J9 Conditions-Based Movement Call (23 Feb)

The Readahead slides on today’s DoD call were covered quickly with little new information noted. The number of reweigh violations was noted again, and industry was asked to focus their attention on reweigh requirements.

TRANSCOM delays awarding new contract worth up to $20 billion for military household goods moves

Officials at U.S. Transportation Command have delayed their award of a contract aimed at improving household goods moves for military members and their families. This delay pushes back the start of the new system several months to the fall of 2022. The new system will fundamentally change how TRANSCOM does business, by putting the day-to-day management of household goods moves into the hands of a contractor. TRANSCOM will still oversee the management.

USTC J9 Non-Peak Season Call (11 Feb)

The DP3 non-peak call covered slides for Week 7 of the year. There were only a handful of items to note from the slides themselves.
