Coalition for Greener Mobility Update
As we prepare to celebrate Earth Day on April 22, we are excited to share the progress we have made as an organization and with our global partners in creating a more sustainable talent mobility industry through the Coalition for Greener Mobility.
Taking action: We launched the Coalition for Greener Mobility website to serve as a valuable resource for sustainability research and information for the global mobility industry. I encourage you to visit the site for the latest research and information, to learn how you can get involved in the work of the Coalition, and to contribute your views and ideas. You can also connect with us on LinkedIn.
Driving the road map: After sessions at CHPA, EuRA, FIDI, IAM, and WERC (GWS) conferences, as well as a webinar series earlier this year, we developed a sustainability road map to guide our work as an industry.
Forging industry-informed resources: Working directly with global mobility professionals to understand actionable steps to be more sustainable as an industry, the Coalition identified working groups for our journey together. One working group has already made significant progress on developing a Glossary of Terms that will be available soon. To date, experts from approximately 100 organizations from around the globe have participated in working groups, labs, and interviews to inform our work.
Partnering for greater success: We connected our work to discussions about migration and sustainability at the Global Forum on Migration and Development in March. We are also actively engaging with the Global Business Travel Association on possible opportunities for partnership and have submitted comments on their Accommodations Sustainability Matrix to ensure our voice is heard.
The Coalition’s activities complement the progress we have made on our own sustainability goals, as we continue to raise awareness on this critical issue.
This Earth Day, I invite you to contact IAM or the Coalition to learn more about our initiatives and how you can join us in promoting more environmentally conscious business practices in our industry.
