IAM Staff Members Brian Limperopulos and Julia O’Connor attended the 2019 Young Movers Conference earlier this month. Held each year in a different European city, the YMC brings together the European moving industry for a program of education and networking.

With more than 200 attendees, the Romanian Organizing Committee planned an excellent event. On the first morning, leaders from the Federation of European Moving Associations (FEDEMAC) first gave a brief history of the moving industry before introducing the new FEDEMAC Commercial Membership, which is set to become available in June 2019. Conference speakers then discussed the importance of cybersecurity to managing a business and how to more effectively network. After these engaging sessions, attendees toured the 2nd largest building in the world, the Romanian Parliament, before enjoying a traditional Romanian dinner. On the following morning, conference participants took part in one of several group activities like a scavenger hunt, a ropes course, etc. before cleaning up for the Closing Dinner.

As always, the YMC proved to be a very effective venue for building relationships and contacts. IAM is looking forward to continuing its support of this valuable event when it is held next year in Dublin, Ireland
