US Transportation Command Announces Delayed Timeline for GHC

In a message issued on September 11, US Transportation Command communicated that there would be an adjustment to the timeline they had originally specified for the implementation of the Global Household Goods Contract (GHC). According to the advisory, “local shipments under GHC, will likely begin later in 2023 instead of the initial target of September.” The advisory did not provide a new date or timeframe for when the GHC would begin implementation.

IAM's Morgana Somers Promoted to Director of Global Services

The International Association of Movers (IAM) is pleased to announce the full-time appointment of Morgana Somers to the position of IAM’s Director of Global Services.

 

Morgana joins IAM from the industry, bringing nearly two decades of valuable experience in the relocation and logistics business, serving two leading global moving companies in the Washington D.C. area. Her expertise spans various areas, including corporate & government relocations, freight forwarding, and customer experience improvement. Morgana also prides herself on the training she delivered to colleagues, in which she developed and conducted numerous industry training programs, catering to topics such as customer service, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management. These programs have significantly contributed to the professional growth of moving industry professionals at all levels of experience.

Passing of Janet Seely

IAM is sad to announce the passing of Janet Seely. Janet's last role at IAM was as the Director of Communications, where she served the members for close to six years. We miss her and share in her family's grief.
