ALAN is helping as well:

As fires on Maui and Big Island continue to burn, the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) is gearing up to provide support – and calling on members of the logistics community to be on long-term alert for opportunities to do the same.

Effective immediately, the organization has expanded its Disaster Micro-Site to include key details about the fires and their related logistics needs. And late yesterday the organization received its first request for logistics assistance – moving communications equipment to support shelter facilities near Lahaina.

Christiaan van der Ent named to Core Members Management Board

Thank you for your service to the association, Christiaan! Read his submitted bio:

I always joking around by saying that “I am born in a box.”  I am in the logistics and moving industry for over 17 years now.

After succeeding my higher education, I started my journey as expediter in Rotterdam. After two years I made my first entrance in the family-owned company.

The first 5 years I worked as a foreman and drove through Europe to deliver household goods. From there I fulfilled different roles as dispatcher, surveyor, and general manager. In the meantime, I updated my skills by following my FIDI MIM, did different sales seminars and getting my entrepreneurial transport papers.

Finally, I become owner (4th generation) of the Van der Ent Group, a 100% family-owned company located in Rotterdam and The Hague ( the Netherlands ) Last year we had the pleasure to celebrate our 100 years anniversary (1922 – 2022) and this year we were appointed as Purveyor to the Royal Household! A recognition of having a good and solid reputation over the last decade.

It`s a pleasure to enter the CMMB board as representative for Europe.

I am looking forward working together with Barbara Savelli within our region.
My goal is to improve the visibility of the IAM and translate the needs and ideas in our industry to the IAM table.

Therefore, feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas.
We need your (critical) feedback, to make things happen!
