USTRANSCOM Peak Season Call (20 July)

Attached are notes and slides from the 20 July Peak Season call.  As usual, the slide Password is USTRANSCOM.

No huge insights from the call.

  • The appeal review for BVS 2.0 data is almost complete.
  • The “no capacity” charts for HHG and NTS show no issues, which is strange for this time of year.
  • The Army went back and talked with their Human Resources command, and they dialed back the number of movers for Aug and September by about 3,400...down to 16K from the 19K+ they briefed last week...potentially due to budget restrictions. But still a significant number for those two months.

Air Force Provides Details on What Bonuses Will Be Reinstated, But Some Duty Station Moves Remain Paused

From Military.com:

Department of the Air Force officials are restoring bonuses but are not fully lifting a pause on duty assignment moves after an Alabama lawmaker blocked and then restored the service's ability to cover budget shortfalls this week.

USTRANSCOM Peak Season Call (13 July)

Attached are notes and slides from the 13 July Peak Season call.  As usual, the slide Password is USTRANSCOM.

Of note, there were a couple of discussions captured in the notes to pay attention to:

  • Air Force talked about their suspended PCS moves. It sounded like their rep stated that overall, the biggest impact would be to delay overseas return moves from Oct to Dec into the Jan to March timeframe.
  • Army stated they believe their Aug to September spike in moves is still on; however the Air Force rep believed it was possible the Army could face the same issue with delaying moves that the Air Force is seeing.
  • TRANSCOM mentioned that they have warehouse inspectors in the field right now around Ft Leavenworth, and those inspectors have dealt with some unprofessional warehouse workers/managers. That’s unacceptable and needs to get cleaned up quickly.
