FMCSA scotches plan to weigh hike in trucker minimum insurance levels

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has withdrawn a plan to propose raising the minimum levels of liability insurance that truckers must carry to $4 million from $750,000, saying it lacked sufficient information to justify further action. The FMCSA's decision leaves the required minimum coverage for bodily injury and property damage at the same levels they've been since January 1985.
