We are proud to offer the Alan F. Wohlstetter Educational Scholarship, sponsored by the Alan F. Wohlstetter Scholarship Fund (AFWSF), offering $5,000 USD to support the educational journey of IAM members, their dependents, and student members! The application period will be open from January 1 to May 1.

The scholarship fund is the cornerstone of the International Association of Movers’ educational assistance initiative. Named for distinguished Association founder and General Counsel Emeritus Alan F. Wohlstetter, the fund benefits the employees of IAM member companies and their dependents, as well as students. Applicants for the educational scholarship may also apply for the Jackie Agner scholarship as part of their application. The Jackie Agner scholarship is an additional monetary award given to one selected applicant that has demonstrated significant involvement with their school and/or community through volunteer service and charity work.

New this year-- Graduating high school seniors and college students are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to students interested in transportation and the global mobility industry and/or pursuing disciplines in related fields of study that are applicable to the global mobility industry. For example, if you are studying to be a doctor or a nurse, you are not eligible for this scholarship. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please contact scholarship@iamovers.org to verify. Applicants may also now apply in other languages. Please see the application for more information.

The Jackie Agner Scholarship

The Jackie Agner Scholarship was created in honor and memory of former Alan F. Wohlstetter Scholarship Fund Secretary/Treasurer and IAM Hall of Honoree, Jackie Agner.  Ms. Agner was a key member and volunteer leader of the International Association of Movers (IAM) serving on the IAM Executive Committee in various roles over 18 years.   She was truly an industry pioneer and leader (a complete list of her achievements can be found on Ms. Agner’s Hall of Honor page.)  Notwithstanding her career accomplishments, Ms. Agner was a devoted wife and mother, a supportive friend, and a mentor to countless IAM Members and individuals within her local community.

This scholarship commemorates Jackie’s generous spirit and commitment to volunteer service throughout her lifetime.

Each year applicants for the Alan F. Wohlstetter Scholarship will have the option to be considered for the Jackie Agner Scholarship.  Winners of this scholarship will have demonstrated the same attributes that Jackie exemplified in her charitable and philanthropic efforts. Namely, qualified applicants will have demonstrated significant involvement with their school and/or community through volunteer service and charity work.  If selected, the recipient would receive an extra $2,500 in addition to the $5,000 awarded for the AFW Scholarship.

In order to be eligible for the Jackie Agner Scholarship, applicants must submit additional documentation to highlight and verify specifics relative to their community service and charitable efforts.
