Thankful for the IAM Community

Tomorrow is the American holiday of Thanksgiving – my favorite holiday of the year as long as I’m not battling traffic with my kids screaming in the backseat. In all seriousness, Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and give thanks for all our blessings. On behalf of IAM, we are thankful for our community of members.

As I reflect on 2022 and the ways in which the moving industry continues to evolve, it is clear that our members are facing a dynamic set of new challenges. A sputtering global economy, rapidly increasing customer demands on technology, and industry consolidation are some of the tricky issues IAM Members must navigate now.

IAM is committed to providing our members with the tools, resources, and connections you need to meet those challenges and be successful. Looking ahead to 2023, IAM will have new member categories that will allow each of our members to align its goals with IAM’s new member categories. These new categories are responding to industry changes and ensuring that IAM’s value proposition to your company remains relevant and valuable. If you have not already chosen your new member category for 2023, do so now by contacting membership@iamovers.org.

IAM is also launching the IAM Trusted Moving Company program. This transformational initiative highlights what it means for a company to be trusted by their partners and their customers. We invite all our members to learn more about this program and why you should seek this credential for your company. Check out the first article below for more information.

Both initiatives are key to achieving IAM’s Strategic Plan. This plan is a journey we are undertaking to champion the moving industry by advancing the professionalism and operational excellence of our members.

Thank you again for your membership and joining us on this journey!

Brian Limperopulos

IAM Vice President

Congratulations to the first companies to achieve this designation!

Register now for an upcoming IAM Learning session and get your company on track to be in the IAM Trusted program.

Email Scams Targeting IAM Members

During the past few weeks, the International Association of Movers (IAM) has recognized an uptick in fraudulent email messages using the IAM name or the name of an IAM Staff person. These scammers either purport to have the IAM Annual Meeting & Expo attendee list for sale or are impersonating IAM’s Director of Government and Military Relations, Daniel Bradley, soliciting support for travel.

At the recent 2022 IAM Annual Meeting & Expo, IAM members voted to At the recent 2022 IAM Annual Meeting & Expo, IAM members voted to revise the by-laws to change the membership categories officially and to broaden the definition of what it means to be a member in good standing.
