Will You be at the Annual Meeting? Book Your Hotel Room now - They are Going Fast!

IAM has contracted with a hotel for discounted rooms, and while we reserved a lot of them, there is a finite number. With more than 1200 registrations at present, the rooms may not last. After you register for the Annual Meeting, you will receive information from our meeting management company about how to reserve your room at the discounted rate. Don't wait; do it now!

Rick Curry Sr Celebration of Life: Sept. 24

IAM previously reported on the passing of Rick Curry. His celebration of life will happen on Sept. 24.

Rick Curry passed away suddenly on June 18. He was a former IAM Chairman and is the current Chairman of the IAM Ethics Council and the Co-Chair of the IAM Looking Back project. He is also a member of IAM’s Hall of Honor, and served for many years on the Hall of Honor Selection Committee.

Rick was widely known and loved in the industry, and was very active in IAM. He devoted a great deal of time, care and wisdom to the association, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Lithium Battery Webcast Summary

On 25 August, IAM hosted a webcast discussion on the potential for federal shippers (DoD, GSA, DoS) to create policy requiring the shipping/storing of used lithium batteries (and the products that use them), within a customer’s personal property shipment. Watch the recording now.

IAM hosted Pete Kramer from the Department of Transportation’s Transportation Safety Institute, to discuss the requirements for shipping lithium batteries with compliance with dangerous goods regulations. Pete has extensive experience with the requirements to transport dangerous goods, specifically lithium batteries. And the challenges and requirements to do it within a personal property shipment domestically, and internationally.
