Join IAM as we Explore Potential DoD Business Rule Initiatives for 2022

Last week, USTRANSCOM’s Personal Property Director chose a select list of industry representatives to engage with on potential business rule changes for 2022. The potential ideas included were clearly defined as a working list that should NOT imply any endorsement from USTRANSCOM; or that there was any agreement that the idea had merit from their perspective.

The list included concepts associated with minimum performance scores; electronic inventories; common financial and administrative control; TSP management groups and others. USTRANSCOM implied that efforts would begin soon, along with the formation of small working groups to get after new proposals for 2022.

As an industry, we have a short window of opportunity to present DoD with positive ideas that could improve the program for the customer. We’d appreciate your thoughts on ways to improve the program that could be implemented by 2022.

to hear more about what might be on the list of 2022 proposals, and bring your ideas on proposals industry could present to DoD that could improve the DoD customer’s moving experience.

IAM can provide your FMCSA Interstate Compliance Requirements (BOC-3 Process Agents & Arbitration)

A number of companies have recently received notice from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) warning that their company’s designation of process agent (Form BOC-3) is no longer valid. And they must have a designated process agent on file with FMCSA, or their operating authority may be revoked.

IAM members can use IAM’s designated process agent through AllAmerican Agents of Process, free with your membership. IAM also has an arbitration program for your use if you choose to take advantage of that program, as required by FMCSA.

How ISA is working to bring container shipping back under control

From a recent communication to ISA members:

The transportation industry media and even the general press, including national TV and online news sources, have run articles and aired numerous commentaries on the backlog of ships and the mounting delays in clearing and moving containers and shipments through U.S. ports. There has been an emphasis on the Ports of Los Angles and Long Beach (LA/LB), since they are among the largest ports and handle an overwhelming percentage of general commodity cargoes inbound from China and other Asian points of origin.

which addresses many of the contributing factors to where its members and the Industry, as well as its customer base, finds themselves today.

Federal court rules California's AB 5 applies to trucking, dealing blow to owner-operator model in state

The leased owner-operator model in California suffered a severe blow last Wednesday as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed an injunction that had exempted the trucking industry from state’s AB 5 law and the ABC test for determining validity of any independent contractor classification.
