2021 IAM Annual Meeting & Expo: An In-Person and Virtual Event

We at IAM are looking forward with confidence to the resumption of business (almost) as usual in the near future. We are firmly committed to holding our 59th Annual Meeting & Expo on schedule with options for both in-person and virtual attendees: October 13-16, 2021 in Orlando, Florida.


Please be assured that the safety of members who attend the in-person event is our top priority. We are taking every precautionary measure available, including planning the events, activities, and food distribution with social distancing and other safety concerns in mind.

IAM Member Companies Canceled Voluntarily and for Nonpayment of Dues

Below are links to two lists of IAM Member companies who are no longer members of IAM. The first is a list of members who have voluntarily canceled. The companies on the second list have failed to pay their membership dues, which were first invoiced in December 2020.




As of April 7, all benefits of IAM membership have ceased for these members. The Canceled Members List will remain on IAM's website for all members in good standing to consult as they go about doing business.

Scholarship Deadline Approaching - Need $5000 for Tuition?

The is the cornerstone of the International Association of Movers’ scholastic assistance initiative. Named for distinguished Association founder and General Counsel Emeritus Alan F. Wohlstetter, the fund benefits the employees of IAM member companies and their dependents, as well as students. The AFW Scholarship Fund awards scholarships of US $5,000 each to students who are pursuing degrees in logistics and transportation. The application deadline is June 1.

Employee Changes at IAM

IAM recently lost a great employee when Scott Rettig left to pursue a career with a CPA firm in the Washington, DC area. At the same time, Angela DeConti decided to step up from part time to full time, so expect to see and hear more from Angela. We are all glad to work with her more!

JK Moving's Chuck Kuhn Featured on Love and Relo

of fame recently partnered with IAM Young Professionals (IAM-YP) to host a conversation with industry leader from .


Chuck discussed how he approaches the concept of sustainability with his businesses and why to invest in sustainability in the first place. He also provided insight into how he thinks moving companies around the world can implement sustainable practices within their own companies and what leadership qualities are required to drive this change.


IAM featured on PCSGrades

Chuck White and Dan Bradley , a show that gives a voice to military and veteran families through trusted reviews on neighborhoods, base housing, schools, moving companies and more. The hour-long session was well attended, and the hosts and audience had so many questions that Chuck and Dan could not get through them all in the allotted time. We hope for a follow-up session to address more issues.

Gert van Engelenburg Leaves De Haan Relocation

We herewith inform you that Gert van Engelenburg, our Manager European Traffic & Partners, will leave/has resigned from De Haan as of the 1st of May 2021.


Gert has accepted a new position with another organization in Europe, where he will further continue his journey and career within the removal industry.


With Gert and his great enthusiasm and dedication, we were able to expand our European department and strengthen relationships with our partners worldwide.

He has been a great asset to De Haan and has ensured that with our European fleet we have become one of the most preferred partners for European transport. With his experience he has worked hard together with the Partnerdesk to further strive for quality and partnership. For that we are very grateful to him and we are sorry to see Gert go.


Until we have appointed a successor, his position and tasks will be taken over by the Partnerdesk team with the support of Linda Rovekamp, our Global Manager Household Moves, and myself.

As members of the logistics industry continue to go above and beyond to support COVID-19 and other disaster relief efforts, the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) has opened nominations for its fifth annual Humanitarian Logistics Awards.

“Many humanitarian efforts couldn’t happen – or happen as well –without the generosity of the supply chain community,” said ALAN Executive Director Kathy Fulton. “These awards were created to shine a light on that generosity and honor some of our industry’s most unsung heroes.”
