AFW Scholarship Now Accepting Applications

The Alan F. Wohlstetter Scholarship Fund (AFWSF) is the cornerstone of the International Association of Movers’ scholastic assistance initiative. Named for distinguished Association founder and General Counsel Emeritus Alan F. Wohlstetter, the fund benefits the employees of IAM member companies and their dependents, as well as students. The AFW Scholarship Fund awards scholarships of US $5,000 each to students who are pursuing degrees in logistics and transportation. The application deadline is May 1.

John Alianello Named President and Chief Operating Officer at MiniMoves®

Jack Arslanian, the Founder and CEO of MiniMoves, Inc. has announced the promotion of John Alianello to the dual role of President and COO of MiniMoves, an interstate household goods carrier providing consumer, corporate, military, and senior moving services.

 

John has been in the household goods moving industry for over 35 years. He has held executive positions in Sales, Sales Management, Operations, Compliance, including responsibility for over 300 brand-affiliated agents/franchise moving & storage transportation companies. John has served as a Board Member of the American Moving & Storage Association AMSA, on the Council for California Moving & Storage Association CMSA, and a member of the International Association of Movers. John is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Law.

Death of Mr. Wladimir Alvares de Mello of Metropolitan Transports

With great sorrow, we regret to inform the death of our dear friend & colleague Wladimir Alvares de Mello, President, Metropolitan Transports S.A. in Brazil.

 

We express our most sincere condolences, for this irreparable loss, to his children, Pedro, Thiago, Nicolau, and Cristina Mello, his wife, Mrs. Marta Mello, as well as to all the Alvares Mello family, and Metropolitan Transports family.

 

We raise a prayer on his behalf; may the Lord grant him eternal peace and provide his family with the necessary strength to overcome this difficult time.
