The Federation of European Moving Associations (FEDEMAC) has created to assist EU-based movers who must navigate new processes and procedures to move goods to or from the United Kingdom following BREXIT.

United Van Lines’ National Migration Study Reveals Where and Why Americans Moved in 2020

United Van Lines today released the company’s 44th Annual National Migration Study, revealing in 2020, Americans continued to move westbound and southbound – and the COVID-19 pandemic factored into and accelerated many of those decisions to move. Idaho was the state with the highest percentage of inbound migration (70%) among states experiencing more than 250 moves with United Van Lines for the second consecutive year. Topping the list of outbound locations was New Jersey (70% outbound), which has held the spot for the past three years.

IAM Welcomes New Ethics Council Members

IAM recently brought on new members of the . The Ethics Council is responsible for adjudicating violations and setting ethics enforcement policy for the Association. Composed of a diverse array of IAM member volunteers, the Members Ethics Council is well equipped to provide a broad, unbiased perspective on ethics issues. Lynden Vice President Dennis Mitchell joins Airforwarders Association Board

Lynden International Senior Vice President Dennis Mitchell was elected to the board of the Airforwarders Association (AfA) on Nov. 16. The AfA serves as the voice of the air forwarding industry and represents nearly 400 member companies dedicated to moving cargo throughout the supply chain. The association's members range from small businesses with fewer than 20 employees to large companies employing more than 1,000 people and business models varying from domestic to worldwide freight forwarding operations. The AfA helps freight forwarders move cargo in the timeliest and most cost-efficient manner whether it is carried on aircraft, truck, rail or ship.

Matson Takes Delivery of ‘Matsonia’

Matson, Inc., a leading U.S. carrier in the Pacific, today took delivery of Matsonia, the second of two new Kanaloa Class combination container/roll-on, roll-off (“con-ro”) ships built for Matson by General Dynamics NASSCO. The two are the largest vessels of their kind ever built in the U.S. They join two new containerships, Daniel K Inouye and Kaimana Hila, themselves the largest of their kind in the U.S. commercial fleet, in completing the renewal of Matson’s Hawaii fleet.

Cheryl Garamoni retired at the end of 2020

Cheryl Garamoni, Vice President of Agency Services, retired at the end of 2020. A number of her colleagues commented in a note published on LinkedIn and wrote responses to her career with the company and their remembrances of working with her.
