IAM's Virtual Annual Meeting begins on Wednesday this week. so you can take advantage of these military and government-themed sessions (all times are EDT):

Annual Qualifications: Certificate of Independent Pricing (CIP) and Certificate of Responsibility (COR) Review

Update Number 21-0003

It is mandatory that all TSPs update CIP and COR information in the Defense Personal Property System (DPS) prior to the 2021 annual rate cycle. Updates can begin in DPS immediately but MUST be completed by 18 December 2020.

USTC J9 Conditions Based Movement Call (13 Oct)

For yesterday’s J9 call, the read-ahead slides were covered quite quickly. Not much different in the slide content in terms of new news; however some significant inputs came during the open discussion portion of the meeting. The only real noteworthy portion of the slides is that J9 stated what they are seeing in execution and in workload projections, it looks like volume is returning to the norm; as opposed to seeing significant increases to the fall/winter volume.

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Issues Simplified Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan Forgiveness Application Form

Last week, the U.S. Small Business Administration announced and issued a simplified forgiveness application for Paycheck Protection Program borrowers who obtained loans of $50,000 or less. The new PPP loan forgiveness application requires borrowers to confirm that funding received from the PPP loan was used for eligible costs.

FMCSA Announces Listening Session on Property Carrier Broker Petitions for Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1:00 - 2:30 PM EDT

The FMCSA announced a listening session pertaining to property carrier brokers. Specifically, they would like to hear from stakeholders on petitions, submitted for consideration by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association and the Small Business in Transportation Coalition, which would amend certain requirements for property carrier brokers. Those interested in participating, or listening to the online session must pre-register.

Why You May Want to Wait to File for PPP Loan Forgiveness and Other Tips

There are many considerations you should take into account when deciding when to submit forgiveness applications to the lender. Patience and adequate preparation might be more than just virtues in the PPP loan forgiveness context; they might lead to financial benefits for borrowers as well.

Military Still Doesn't Have a Solution for Sky-High Cost of Moving Pets to New Duty Stations

Military move officials did not have an update Friday on if or when troops might receive help paying to move their pets as part of a permanent change of station move. A senior Pentagon official told families in May that he would be "looking into" a pet shipping fee reimbursement. But Rick Marsh, the deputy director for strategic plans, policy and logistics at U.S. Transportation Command on Friday declined to comment on whether reimbursement was still under consideration.
