FMCSA Releases Much-Anticipated Final HOS Rule

FMCSA revises the hours of service (HOS) regulations to provide greater flexibility for drivers subject to those rules without adversely affecting safety.

Commentary from Setliff Law: In the past two months, we have seen three major modifications to the Federal Carrier Safety Administration (“FMCSA”) Hours of Service Rules – two temporary and one permanent.

IAM-YP membership

Nominations are now open for YP Chair and Vice Chair - Deadline June 10

As required by the Association's By-Laws, herein is formal notice that elections will take place in July for the IAM-YP Management Board.

 

Every two years, the IAM-YP is required to hold formal elections to determine which individuals will serve as Chair and Vice Chair for the next two-year term.

 

Voting for the IAM-YP Chair and Vice Chair will take place starting July 21st –August 21, 2020. The winners will be announced at the IAM-YP Members Meeting during the 58th IAM Annual Meeting.

 

U.S. Military Stop-Movement Orders to Be Lifted Immediately at Some Bases

The stop-movement order in effect for military families on permanent change-of-station moves, originally set to run through June 30, will be lifted in stages, with some installations to begin accepting transfers immediately, Pentagon officials said.

So You Have Your PPP Loan – Time to Get It Forgiven!

Setliff Law reported to IAM that the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”), signed into law on Friday March 27, introduced the . The Small Business Administration (SBA) launched the PPP on April 3, with an initial $349 billion in funding, and just 14 days later, by April 16, PPP lenders approved more than 1,661,000 loans totaling nearly $342.3 billion. The best part of the Paycheck Protection Program is that 100% of the loan can be forgiven—if you meet certain criteria.

IAM to Move its Office in July

IAM is in the process of moving its office. The move will take place on July 11, with staff reporting to the office on July 13.
