IAM Submits Comments on Proposed CBP Ruling

In the context of our industry, this rule would require customs brokers in the U.S. to obtain additional data elements from your transferees that are not applicable to them. For instance, people moving their household goods into the U.S. would have to provide a recent credit report and a copy of a business registration and license with state authorities. These requirements are clearly written for companies that import good into the U.S. but do not recognize that people like our clients import goods as well.

IAM Global Moving & Mobility Standards Summit Advances Data Discussion

An inflection point can be defined as a decisive moment that marks a significant change.

 

On Oct. 3, the International Association of Movers hosted an event billed as the Global Moving & Mobility Standards Summit. Roughly 75 attendees represented key moving and mobility service stakeholders, including corporate and government customers, relocation management and moving services companies, technology and services suppliers to the industry, and industry associations. The purpose of the discussion was to establish an initial foundation for facilitating data exchange throughout the industry.

IAM would like to extend our sincere thanks to Gridiron Forwarding Company for their sponsorship of the entire IAM-YP program at the 57th Annual IAM Meeting & Expo in Chicago, Illinois. Suddath Voted 2019 Best Moving Company and Best Place to Work

Staff Changes at the Swiss Moving Company®

Following the appointment last May of M. Jimmy Bruzzese as President & CEO of the Swiss Moving Company®, a deep reorganisation has been implemented in order to better serve our customers and international partners.

 

Alex Brito will now take up the position of Operations & Quality Director. Alex, with 25 years in the moving industry, will now supervise the operations and be involved in the implementation of the Quality Management System within the company.

 

Emilie Fillion has joined the operations team as Team Leader. Emilie previously worked at Harsch. With 17 years' experience in the international mobility, Emilie is a centrepiece of the company.

 

Aurélie Darnaud also joined the team as Senior Coordinator. Aurélie has worked at Harsch and MS Move for nearly 12 years and has an excellent knowledge of the Swiss market and its regulations.

 

Guillaume Bauden, formerly sales representative at Harsch, has joined the company as Sales Manager. He is in charge of Business development with a specialization in offices removals services. Guillaume has been in the industry for almost 16 years.

Arpin Group Donates 1,352 Pounds of Food to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank

Arpin Group is pleased to announce the collection and donation of 1,352 pounds of non-perishable food items to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

 

At the beginning of September 2019, Arpin’s Sustainability Committee worked together to strategize how they could make an impact on the community while also promoting awareness for Hunger Action Month. They decided to partner with Move for Hunger, the 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works alongside a number of relocation companies in their efforts to collect food donations for delivery to local food banks. Their “Back to School” Food Drive collection was comprised of boxed foods, canned goods, and an assortment of beverages and miscellaneous items, filling 12 extra-large Arpin moving boxes to the brim.

Hilldrup Chairman Charles G. McDaniel Wins UniGroup’s 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award

Atlantis International Celebrates 25 Years

Atlantis International, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is celebrating 25 years in the moving business.

 

Before launching the company, Karl Rafael Wollny has worked with Four Winds Brazil, as Sao Paulo General Manager .

 

Starting from a small office with a couple of employees, Atlantis International operates from his own 4.000 square meters facilities in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most modern and beautiful removals storages, serving the whole country of Brazil with origin and destination services
