USTRANSCOM J9 Conditions Based Movement Call (27 July)
- Rick Marsh is taking another job with the Army Staff at the end of August. He will be replaced by BG (select) Joel Safranek, who is already on the USTRANSCOM Staff as a Deputy Director. Prior to his time at USTRANSCOM Safranek was the Dover AFB Wing Commander.
- When asked today about any ongoing working groups involving industry on the 2022 business rules, USTRANSCOM stated the working groups are internal to DoD; and industry would have an opportunity to comment on those rules (my sense is we’ll see the rules early August and have until towards the end of August to comment on them).
- The one business rule working group that was formed with industry was on electronic inventories. IAM participated in a couple of meetings, and then there were no more moving forward. We asked about whether that group was done, or whether a decision has been made on moving forward with electronic inventories, and was told USTC would reach out as needed. A later email I received on the topic said there was a review happening with Rick Marsh this Friday, and we should find out more after that on how far USTC will push this initiative.
