IAM Submits Comments on Proposed CBP Ruling

IAM recently submitted comments to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on their proposed rule to place more requirements on customs brokerb to verify an importer's identity. In the context of our industry, this rule would require custom brokers in the United States to obtain additional data elements from a transferee that are not applicable to people moving their household goods into the US like the provision of a recent credit report and a copy of the person’s business registration and license with state authorities.
