  • Evidence of yellow fever vaccination
  • Original bill of lading (OBL) / sea waybill / air waybill (AWB)

Specific Information

  • Visas may be obtained after entering the country, but it is strongly recommended to obtain one prior to entry.
  • The time indicated on the Djiboutian visa is the amount of time a person is permitted to stay in Djibouti without a residency permit. 
    • For stays past the date indicated on the visa, an exit tax of USD 60.00 is generally added to the cost of an airline ticket by travel agents (if traveling by air). 
    • All fees must be paid in cash.
  • Owners of the goods traveling to Djibouti are encouraged to research and consider travel warnings regarding safety and security.

Restricted/Dutiable Items

  • The items below may qualify for free import by persons 17 years of age and older:
    • Cigarettes (200), cigars (50), cigarillos (100), tobacco (250)
    • Alcohol up to 22% (2 L), more than 22% (2 L), wine (2 L)
    • Perfume (50g), eau de toilette (250 ml)

Prohibited Items

  • Illegal drugs
  • Weapons and ammunition
  • Knives and other deadly weapons
  • Pornographic or subversive materials
  • Photographic equipment (may lead to confiscation or arrest)
