China: Update on cargo manifest regulation
China Customs is now strictly enforcing the new cargo manifest regulation – in force since 01 June.
This regulation now applies, not only to imports, but also to all exports (air and sea).
GACC (General Administration of Customs China) Announcement No. 56 seeks to standardize customs procedures and ensure the veracity of cargo manifest declarations.
We remind you that the key items that need to be considered are:
• Cargo manifest submissions must be made 24 hours prior to loading.
• Cargo Description must be complete and accurate.
• The full contact details of the Shipper and Consignee are mandatory, including the Enterprise Codes.
Enterprise codes vary across country.
